Welcome to Enquiring Minds Childcare
We pride ourselves on offering a unique balance of education, development and play in a home-from-home environment dedicated to fulfilling each child's potential.
Our schools in Clane and Athgarvan provide quality childcare and education to children aged 3 months to 12 years, catering for all childcare needs from babies, wobblers and toddlers to Montessori and after school care.
Both schools follow the Montessori method for all age groups, with planned biweekly themes which cover cultural education, nature and science and language and early mathematic skills.
All staff at Enquiring Minds are fully qualified with at least Fetac level 5 in childcare, with Montessori teachers qualified up to higher diploma and degree level.
Our ethos at Enquiring Minds places an emphasis on quality education and child development. We believe that all children are naturally curious, and it is our responsibility to make sure that this curiosity and thirst for knowledge is nurtured in fun and exciting ways.
Our Athgarvan branch is located in the Old Mill Race development, and is a quaint cottage style school with a large playground, kitchen and four beautifully decorated classrooms.

Our Clane branch boasts a large purpose built facility in a gated complex off the Prosperous road in the village, with a state of the art kitchen, an all-weather playground with two slides and a sandpit and bright spacious classrooms.
Each age group is catered for in a specific way from the design of the classroom, to play and education curriculums.
Children enrolled in Enquiring Minds Childcare can look forward to arts and crafts, music and movement, Montessori education, lots of free play, drama and outdoor play in all-weather playgrounds.
We are HSE approved and registered members of the National Children’s Nursery Association. We also qualify for the ECCE free childcare place scheme. Montessori (age 3-5yrs) and playgroup (Age 12mths – 2yrs) sessions run between 9:00am and 12:00pm with full and half day options available.
2010/11 Free pre school year explained:
The scheme entitles children whose birth date falls between 2nd February 2006 to 30th June 2007 to a free pre-school year.
Children are entitled to 3 free hours per morning, 5 mornings per week over 38weeks running alongside the school terms.
Alternatively children are entitled to 2hours 15minutes free per day, 5 days per week, over 50 weeks full time or part time
Parents are advised to book their children into our school at the start, or before, the new school year (September) to avoid missing out on the free school year as places are limited. Children that are already enrolled in the school will have first preference.
Both Schools provide after school care services for children up to age 12 years.
The after care service includes pick up and drop off to and from local schools and homework clubs.
We offer eight exciting summer camps throughout the months of July and August with themes such as sports, science baking,self awareness,and Party Camps.
